The City of Taunton is currently investing over $27 million to upgrade the largest pump station at Main Lift Pumping Station for the City's Wastewater Treatment Facility. Construction of a brand new, state-of-the-art Main Lift Pumping Station is underway that will allow the City to reliably operate sewer flows up to 25 million gallons per day and mitigate the number of Combined Sewer Overflow discharges. The project includes building a new facility with new foundation and new sewer influent and sewer force main; constructing a new structure with all new exterior and interior finishes; a new control room with new electrical and generator back-up power; new dry well and wet well; five new pumps.
