The O'Connell Adminstration recognizing the State's decarbonization and climate change plan and aiming to capitalize on new revenue resources instituted solar initiatives throughout the City of Taunton.
Working with companies like NextGrid, Consigli Construction, Parent Creative, and the City's Taunton Municipal Light Plant the City of Taunton has successfully engaged in solar projects at the Taunton Landfill site, Chamberlain Elementary School, and the Taunton Water Department Treatment Facility. These solar installations will provide new revenue streams, reduce infastructure costs, earn tax credits, and help reduce the City's carbon footprint.
